Compliance to Risk-Based Policies

OBJECTIVES

 

The course is designed to:

 

§  Enhance  knowledge and understanding of the Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) of Canada Policy Suite Renewal Initiative and associated risk management responsibilities and expectations related to areas of high exposure

 

§   Explain the linkages between risk-based policies compliance and meeting overall TBS Integrated Risk Management (IRM) and other accountability expectations;

 

§  Build a common understanding of risk management concepts and strategies; and

 

§  Enable participants to develop and implement the appropriate risk management infrastructure, practices and monitoring and learning mechanisms within a clearly articulated and understood strategic organizational context.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

A comprehensive overview of TBS risk management guidelines and expectations together with interactive discussion on the drivers and challenges faced by organizations will clarify the interrelationships between various requirements as well as the underlying principles that are being promulgated.

 

An introduction and discussion on Risk Management concepts ant strategies will advance knowledge, understanding and application of risk management principles within policy and program decision-making.

 

Through simulated hands-on exercises, participants will learn, analyze and apply risk management fundamentals to the implementation of new policy requirements and alignment to specific organizational and operational contexts.
