OBJECTIVES
|
|
Participants will be able to:
- Provide better advice to
managers and the organization on the use of facilitated risk
assessment sessions in meeting Vision and Maturity Targets for
Integrated (Enterprise) Risk Management
-
Plan and conduct
systematic risk assessment sessions better, employing group facilitation
- Prepare better Risk
Management Plans for implementation of risk mitigation priorities - in
balance with other priorities of ongoing and new initiatives
To
ensure managers, officers, and analysts have the skills to facilitate
successful systematic risk assessment sessions. Participants will
be able to:
- Manage participation and
interactions within the risk assessment group better based on Rules
of Brainstorming and Engagement, an understanding of session
objectives, process components, and appropriate time allocations.
- Better Identify and
Assess key relevant risks based on Clarity of the
Objective/Outcome at risk, Excellence in Risk Identification,
selection of priority risk based on Preliminary Risk Assessment, and
Assessment Criteria management and stakeholders can trust
- Better describe
the concerns and Impacts associated with a specific risk analyzed in
detail thereby enabling the development of better responses to
incrementally manage the risk where appropriate.
- Deliver better plans to manage,
monitor, and report on key risks and
- Better prepare
for scrutiny of the risk assessment through Access to Information
legislation or by various audit, evaluation, and review authorities.

ABOUT
THE WORKSHOP
|
Modern Risk Management requires organizations to have a suite of risk
management tools and techniques. Systematic Risk Assessment is a
fundamental
component of the suite that can be used to efficiently and effectively
assess and manage the strategic risks of major initiatives, programs
and the organization overall. Systematic Risk Assessment can be
applied at any time as needs arise, but typically Systematic Risk
Assessments are updated annually and the results are used in planning
for the achievement of results in the coming year(s).
This course is designed to advance the knowledge and skills learned in
Modern Risk Management: Concepts, Tools & Techniques course. It will
enable
participants to become leaders of risk management in their areas –
with detailed knowledge of risk management concepts, preparation and
conduct Systematic Risk Assessment sessions (using skills in group
facilitation), the use of Risk Management Plans to ensure effective
implementation of risk mitigation priorities.
