ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
|
The workshop will demystify senior management’s
implementation concerns and explain how IRM supports a
unifying risk-based accountability framework for managing
in the public sector. Participants will learn about
fundamental risk concepts and key aspects of embedding IRM
into modern management practices.
Simulated exercises will instill value-added knowledge and
experience in laying the foundation and infrastructure for
IRM practices through practical change management
strategies such as:
-
IRM Best-practices research and comparative
benchmarking;
-
IRM Capabilities Self-Assessment;
-
The development of a framework that facilitates
organizational awareness of key IRM concepts, strategies
and operating principles; and
-
Action Plan Implementation that demonstrates leadership,
management commitment and the way forward through
concrete mechanisms such as accountabilities and
performance planning integration.
Participants will have an opportunity to discuss
transition strategies with senior federal government
managers who have first-hand experience in planning and
implementing IRM change. We will invite our colleagues
within the risk management community to share their
experiences, lessons-learned and success stories related
to IRM implementation.
